You don’t always have the luck to take real estate photos under a bright blue sky. Of course, I try to select a suitable day for the photo documentation of a property in consultation with the customer. Sometimes this has to be postponed due to short-term weather changes. But that doesn’t always work.

Bad weather is therefore no reason for bad real estate photos. On the contrary: indoor shots in particular are more balanced in terms of exposure, there are no extreme differences in brightness due to incident sunlight and you get an even better impression of the subject.

Some colleagues change the sky in the editing process, especially for outdoor shots, turning gray into blue. Personally, I don’t think much of it, because if the lighting situation on the building, trees and the surrounding area simply doesn’t allow for it, the photos quickly look artificial and undermine the seriousness that the object actually has, because in the aftermath you resort to means that don’t reflect the truth.

To sum up: sunshine would be nice, but is by no means a must for successful photos.
